Lantern Making Workshop with NYCCC at Hudson Yards

In this hands-on workshop led by NYCCC's artist Angela Lai, participants will be introduced to the tradition and symbolism of Chinese lanterns, an art form that has been part of Chinese festivals and daily life for centuries. Guided step by step, participants will learn basic construction techniques using simple materials in the pre-made kit and will create their own lantern to take home. No prior experience is required. This workshop emphasizes creativity, exploration, and enjoyment, offering a relaxed and engaging way to connect with Chinese culture through making and doing.
