🌟Celebrating 3 years anniversary of the Language-and culture cafe in Copenhagen🌟
Join us for our Friday edition of the langauge-and culture cafe, when we are celebrating our 3 years anniversary all together with dance, talks and drinks!
Our Language-and culture cafe started 3 years ago, so now it's time to celebrate everything we have achieved together. For this very special day we have invited the Tango studio Tango Spirer to learn and guide us though an Argentinian Tango workshop. Everyone are welcome to join, no previous experience needed. As long as we are having fun and are learning together - just like leaning new languages😉💫
Programme for the evening:
18:00-18:15: doors open and arrival
18:15-18:30: presentation and welcome by our volunteers
18:30-19:30: speeddating practicing Spanish and Danish
19:30-20:15: Dance workshop by Tango Spirer - social dancing and performance
20:15-21:00: Mingle and dancing time

About the concept:

At our language-and culture cafe you’ll get the chance to meet people from different cultures, while practicing your language skills at the same time. The event is for everyone, whether you’ve just started learning or speak fluently – as long as you have fun!
We’ve taken the speed dating concept and turned it into a language game, so instead of looking for your soulmate, you’ll be improving your new language while making friends.
Feeling shy? Don’t worry, we’ll have prompt cards with interesting themes ready, so you don’t have to worry about breaking the ice. Our volunteers will guide you through the whole evening, and at the end there will be a mingle time, where you can enjoy cheap drinks from the bar and thereby directly supporting our work with Central America.
We are all committed to maintaining the language- and culture cafe a safe space where everyone is welcome; free from all kinds of discrimination. We actively work to create a respectful and inclusive environment, where we fight and promote diversity and learning. Join our community to improve your language skills, meet people from different cultures and experience new friendships growing.

What is MAK?

The Central America Committee or in Danish: Mellemamerika Komiteen (MAK) is an NGO-solidarity organization. We want to create an active solidarity community with the people from Central America: therefore, we actively support the struggle for social justice, self-determination, and human rights.
We prioritize collaborating directly with political and popular movements. For the past 40 years, we have worked with farmers' movements, trade unions, women's organizations, and youth organizations, all working to strengthen the social and political conditions of the poor majority.
We are largely run by groups of dedicated volunteers, who are committed to making a change in Central America for those who are forced to live under injustice.
