About this Event
This introductory course teaches two-dimensional dry needle felt painting techniques. Each student will learn the basic methods for felting a landscape painting including designing the composition, correct needle positioning, placement and felting of wool roving, un-felting techniques, and final steps to complete the wool painting. In this specific course, three different mountain scenes will be available for students to select from for their painting. Students can also select between a 5X7 inch or 5X5 inch painting. No experience or artistic talent is required to create wool painting.
Please Note: The class kit (additional $25 kit fee) includes all necessary materials.
Most students will be able to complete the painting during the two-hour class; however, virtual support is available for any students that are unable to finish their painting during the class (to be arranged with the instructor via Zoom). Once the paintings are completed, students will learn different methods for framing/finishing their wool art (frames, shadow boxes, and other finish methods are not included).
