Landowner Workshop Vol. 1: Native Tree Planting and Species SelectionJoin Appalachian Headwaters to learn how to select the best native tree species to plant on your property!
This event will be held Saturday, April 11th, from 10AM-1PM at Wood Thrush Park. Tom Saladyga, PhD will give an informational presentation on tree species selection for different habitat restoration goals and property types.
Participants will then move outside and take part in a tree planting event to help us establish a new demonstration area, and reforest former cattle pasture! This will also serve as a hands-on demonstration on planting techniques and the placement of native tree saplings!
You will be able to purchase native tree saplings from Headwaters Native Plants and nursery staff will be available to answer any questions you might have about species selection, planting placement, and more!
This event is FREE and open to the public, with a $10 suggested donation to help us further our mission. Donations can be made by check or cash day of, or submitted online via Paypal at https://appheadwaters.org/donate.
