Calling all students in Odense - both internationals and Danes!Join us for an event where you’ll learn about different approaches to finding a job during and after your studies. We’ve invited two internationals to share their practical, honest, and recent experiences.
🧑🏼🎓LANDING A JOB AFTER YOUR STUDIES
Jinha moved from South Korea to Denmark more than six years ago. Finding a job here? Still not easy—but he figured it out and is eager to share what he’s learned.
With a PhD in robotics and a postdoctoral research background, Jinha transitioned from academia to industry. In just two months of active job searching, he sent out around 60 applications and received five job offers.
In his presentation, he’ll walk you through what actually worked: why an academic CV is very different from an industry CV, how to write a cover letter that stands out, and how to effectively use platforms like LinkedIn, Jobnet, and your A-kasse. He’ll also share insights on networking and explain how local municipality services in cities like Odense, Vejle, and Esbjerg can be valuable resources - especially for internationals.
📖FROM INTERNSHIP TO STUDENT ASSISTANT
At the event, you’ll also meet Carina, Portuguese student assistant at Odense Municipality. She’ll share her journey of landing an internship - and how her internship at International House Odense led to a student assistant position during her studies.
There will be facilitated group discussions about your own experiences, as well as time for Q&A with Jinha, Carina, and staff from International House Odense.
