Celebrate America’s 250th anniversary with a citywide Patriotic Decorating Contest in Lancaster!From May 1 through May 25 (Memorial Day), residents and local businesses are invited to register and transform their homes and storefronts with red, white, and blue. Whether it’s flags, lights, wreaths, window displays, or full property makeovers, creative and festive designs are encouraged to bring the spirit of the season to life.

Participants are encouraged to stop by the Fairfield County Visitor Center at 128 N Broad Street in downtown Lancaster (open Monday–Friday, 9 AM–5 PM) to pick up a laminated sign to display at their home or business to help encourage community voting. There is a QR Code on the sign that directs people to the voting form.
Community voting will take place from June 1 through July 4, giving residents and visitors the chance to explore Lancaster and vote for their favorite displays.
Winners will be announced on Monday, July 6 on Visit Fairfield County’s social media channels.
Two winners will be selected:
• Residential Winner – $50 gift card
• Business Winner – $50 gift card
Properties along the 4th of July Parade route—especially North Broad Street and North Columbus Street—are especially encouraged to participate.
This contest is a fun way to showcase community pride, take part in the America 250 celebration, and help make Lancaster shine throughout the summer season.
