A charming coastal and canal-side circular walk to Carnforth from Bolton-le-Sands This is quite possibly the flattest route of this distance that we have ever led!An 8.5 mile / 14km route takes us along the shores of Morecambe Bay, following the Lancashire Coastal Way to Carnforth and returns via the Lancaster Canal towpath. With most of the route on either canal towpath, minor roads or coastal paths the elevation gain is just 375ft / 115m, but we do get to visit a Trig Point (perfect for the trig baggers amongst you). Due to the lack of elevation, this is an easy walk suitable for beginners, but please note the distance covered.
There are several gates stiles on this route, so not wholly accessible. We will aim to complete this walk within 4.5 hours, including a rest / lunch break. Children aged approx. 7+ are welcome to attend.
Well behaved, friendly (with people and other dogs) dogs are welcome (max. 2 per person), but must be agile enough to climb stiles or small enough to be lifted. Please also note that we will be passing through many fields of sheep, so be prepared to have your dog on a lead for some of this route.
This small-group guided walk is professionally led by Abi, a qualified Mountain Leader and Outdoor First Aider / Mental Health First Aider, with full PL insurance. Booking is essential, places are limited and cost £15 per person. Please folow the ticket link for booking details.
