This workshop is perfect for beginners who want to learn how to make a contemporary drum lampshade. You will learn the tips and tricks to make your own professional quality drum lampshade and will learn how to:
• Position your fabric on your lampshade, thinking about pattern placement and repeats
• Adhere your fabric onto the laminate panel used to make the shade
• Hand roll the covered panel on to the lampshade rings, expertly tucking the fabric under the rings to make the perfect shade
Your finished lampshade can be used on ceiling pendants or table lamps, and will measure approximately 40cm diameter by 25cm high.
Please bring your own lightweight fabric to use, your covering needs to be 1296mm wide x 298mm to cover the self-adhesive panel supplied. We recommend using a light to medium weight fabric, either a cotton, poly cotton or a linen/cotton mix. If you have any questions about fabric then do get in touch.
By the end of the workshop you will get to go home with your very own bespoke lampshade and will have all the skills to create many more beautiful shades!
The cost includes all tools for the class apart from fabric, which you will need to bring along with you (ironed if possible).
