About this Event
Many Christian leaders carry grief quietly.
Some of it is obvious losses already endured.
Some of it is hidden unspoken disappointments, identity shifts, fatigue, or ministry changes that haven’t fully happened yet but are already being felt.
This retreat is designed to create sacred space for lament...not as despair, but as faithful honesty before God.
The Lamentations Retreat for Christian Leaders is a guided, small-group experience rooted in Scripture, spiritual care, and grief-informed practice. It invites leaders to slow down, name loss without spiritual bypassing, and bring sorrow, confusion, and longing directly into the presence of God without rushing to resolution.
Throughout the weekend, participants will engage in:
Guided teaching on biblical lament and grief in leadership
Structured reflection and prayer practices
Space to explore hidden, unresolved, or anticipatory grief
Communal moments of silence, scripture, and shared humanity
Rest, nourishment, and restoration in a quiet retreat setting
This is not group therapy, and it is not a conference. It is a retreat designed to help leaders hold faith and pain together, allowing meaning and hope to emerge honestly and in time.
All participants will enjoy:
Private lodging with private bath
All meals from Friday dinner through Sunday lunch
Meeting space, 24/7 beverages, and Wi-Fi
Access to peaceful grounds for reflection and rest
Space is intentionally limited to preserve depth, safety, and meaningful engagement.
If you are a leader who senses that you have been “strong for a long time,”
If you are carrying grief you haven’t had language for,
Or if you are approaching a season of transition and feel the weight of what may be lost...
This retreat may be for you.
