The second of our Series' Finale 'Dirty Double' weekend. Starting from the Ullswater Pier at Glenridding, your journey starts with a beautiful complimentary half hour cruise aboard the Ullswater Steamer "Lady of the Lake" to the hamlet of Howtown with the boat rocking to the tunes of singer/song-writer Pete Lashley.The routes then follow well marked and marshalled footpaths and bridleways along the lake shore, giving panoramic views of Helvellyn and the surrounding peaks, finishing on the lake short in Jenkins Field.
Much of the course passes through ancient woodland, which will be at its autumnal best. Underfoot conditions can be tricky at times, especially if wet but the views more than make up for it!
Oh, and don't forget your fancy dress (unless you're a world-class trail runner like Damian Hall!)
