About this Event
Situated in the Northwest of England, the Lake District was designated a National Park in May 1951 and includes all the land above 3000 feet in England with the highest mountain, as well as, the deepest and longest bodies of water.
We have done this holiday every year and it is always popular, we will enjoy ‘Laal Ratty’ a narrow-gauge Steam Train in the western lakes which takes us to Dalegarth within sight of Scafel Pike in beautiful Eskdale, on our return we visit Muncaster Castle and the Birds of Prey display at 2pm. The fascinating Lake District Motor Museum is included along with the steam train and cruise along Lake Windermere with the afternoon free at Bowness. Our final day is spent visiting Kendal and then traversing the Kirkstone Pass to visit Grasmere.
