The Neighbourhood Project is carrying out research into the former railway stations of Bradford. We are looking to talk to people who have memories of the closed stations, and we are especially interested in finding out how the railway had an impact on people’s lives and their communities. We are very keen to see old photographs of the stations and trains. We are running a series of ‘memory banks’ in places served by some of the closed stations. These will be informal discussions and give people an opportunity to reminisce and share their stories. Whilst they will focus on these particular stations, people may also talk about other closed stations if they have memories of them. Contributions will be kept anonymous, and we will provide light refreshments.
This project is made possible thanks to financial support from Bradford Trident Community Council and Bradford Metropolitan Council’s Bradford East Area Committee.
