Multi award-winning vocalist, pianist and songwriter Laila Biali is touring Canada with her most ambitious show ever, Wintersongs & Holiday Classics.Audiences can revel in winter-inspired original music alongside thrilling arrangements of secular and sacred classics featuring fellow Juno-winning saxophonist and flautist Jane Bunnett, bassist Dan Fortin (Myriad3), violinist Rebekah Wolkstein (Payadora), Eskasoni Mi’kmaq First Nations dancer Sarah Prosper, and for this show only, CapU’s acclaimed choir NiteCap.
Toronto-based singer-songwriter and pianist Biali has headlined festivals and venues spanning five continents from New York City's Carnegie Hall to Beijing's National Centre for the Performing Arts. She toured with Chris Botti and Suzanne Vega and recorded with and supported Sting. Laila “masterfully mixes jazz and pop, bringing virtuosity and unpredictability to songs that are concise and catchy,” states Washington Post. Laila’s CBC radio show, Saturday Night Jazz broadcasts to millions of listeners across Canada.
