New event for 2026! De Havilland themed Aviation Photography Training Workshop, featuring Mosquito HJ711 at The Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre on Friday 19th June 2026.
The Photography Training Workshops are designed to help you get more from a DSLR, Mirrorless or CSC camera when photographing aircraft in a range of situations. The day is not really suited to compact camera or mobile phone photography, as you need a camera that allows manual control of shutter and aperture. As a basic rule of thumb, if your camera has interchangeable lenses, then it’s likely to be what you need for a workshop.
The LAHC de Havilland themed workshop covers the basics of how to use the camera settings. For some this is an escape from using auto settings, and for others it’s a useful refresher of the basics. The workshop includes an initial theory session before the rest of the day is used for practical instruction. Lunch is provided and there’s a great deal of unique opportunities organised during the workshop that will ensure you have plenty of value for money. This workshop is a Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre event, organised by Darren Harbar Photography. It utilises the timeless grass airfield at East Kirkby, providing superb photographic opportunities. Your day starts with a theory presentation, followed by some time in the hangar where you get to practice some photography with more challenging lighting. After lunch, you'll head onto the airfield where you'll get further instruction on how to photograph Tony Agar’s stunning Mosquito in a very natural setting and there will be period re-enactors on site to pose for some portraits. The last part of the day is more challenging as you learn the technique of photographing a moving subject. This starts with the engines running on the de Havilland Mosquito, before it’s taxied in front of you and you’ll then get the chance to practice the skills you have learnt on a flying subject, with a de Havilland Chipmunk. The day covers the most likely scenarios you'll encounter with aircraft.
