Buongiorno. "Lago di Mac - Lap of the Lake" is a festival of all things Italian around the shores of Lake Macquarie.
đź“Ť Thomas H Halton Park, Eleebana.
đź—“ 24th November 2024
⏰ 9am - 3pm
There are 3 key components to this free community event:
Firstly, Thomas H Halton Park will be the epicentre for this cultural celebration, and will be transformed into a memorable hub of elevated family friendly atmosphere.
Imagine… Italian food, music, Antipasto & Aperol Spritzer Piazza, family grass games, picnic blankets, Italian long lunch tables, amazing automobile and motorbikes on display, and a Christmas themed “Buon Natale” photo zone… and more!
Secondly – Lap of the Lake.
Armed with a “Key Map” with some of Lake Macquarie’s fantastic restaurants, cafes, and tourist sights - you can create your own Italian foodie adventure and journey around the lake whilst enjoying a few less explored and super fun roads. Destinations will vary depending on your taste, budget, and interests (ideally we’ll try to make these Italian, but not essential).
Thirdly – Mostro scambio swap meet (monster scavenge).
9:30am – 3:00pm on Saturday 23rd of November. Never done before in NSW. We have added a day to our festival to allow participants to swap Italian car, motorcycle and pushbike parts. Which will be concluded with a lap of the lake and a pizza party.

Opening hours for participating restaurants/cafes may vary, so best check with the venue.

Yes - it’s free. The main carpark is for display vehicles. Other vehicles please park in northern end of Halton Park carpark, near the boat ramp.

Yes. It wouldn’t be the same if you didn’t bring the whole family.
Can I still participate in Lap of the Lake if I don't own an Italian car or motorbike?
Absolutely.
Where do we meet for Lap of the Lake?
Thomas H Halton on Saturday 23rd of November. Lap of the Lake starts after swap meet at 3pm . Or you may choose any one of the participating venues around the lake.
What are the Lap of the Lake details?
There is no defined route. Similar to 2023, there is no start time or finish time for your Lap of the Lake. You can choose to design your own lap around the lake and choose where you wish to drive, stop and have a break, and which parts of the lake you wish to see. Lake Macquarie is surrounded by some fun winding and open roads, gorgeous scenic passages, and there is no shortage of restaurants and cafes to visit. Perhaps grab a picnic blanket and join us at Halton Park by the shore and watch it all go by.
What if I want to participate with my car club or friends?
All clubs and social groups are welcome to attend, as are individual drivers and riders.
Traveling from afar? Why don’t you stay for the weekend?
Do we need to stick to the map?
No. The maps are for your reference only to highlight possible enjoyable passages to explore and consider when mapping your own route. For the adventurous, we'll publish 4 google maps for some less-travelled scenic passages to enjoy.
What happens if it is forecast to rain?
It's always on with the use of our massive marquee (26m x 14m seats 280 people), weather makes no difference. The site is exceptionally well drained, as we experienced last year.
Have a great day, drive & ride safe, and give a wave as you cruise past each other!
Grazie mille 🇮🇹
