Join us for LAFPI Co-founder Laura Shamas' award-winning FOUR WOMEN IN RED at the Victory Theatre. This provocative play about four resilient women who search for their missing loved ones puts the spotlight on murdered Indigenous women.
On the LAFPI Afternoon, we'll plan to meet at 3:30pm for a free pre-show glass of wine, nibbles and a chance to catch up with other playwrights.
Curtain is at 4pm, and after the show, stay for a talkback with Cynthia Ruiz (Cherokee Nation, Latina), a best selling author ("Sacred Ceremony & Rituals for today’s world") and activist to discuss the play, and our need for healing rituals.

About the play:
The Victory Theatre Center presents the world premiere of FOUR WOMEN IN RED, written by Laura Shamas (Chickasaw Nation) and directed by Jeanette Harrison (Onondaga), starring Jehnean Washington, Carolyn Dunn, Zoey Reyes, Harriette Feliz.
Someone knows. Somewhere.
In Anishinaabe lands, apathetic sheriffs are unable to help four First American women find their missing sisters, daughters and loved ones who have disappeared. The rollercoaster journey involves suspense, mystery, prayer and joy. When one family gets some news, will it tear this group apart? Ultimately, the four women forge a new path forward together.
Opening night is set for February 14 (International Day of Action for #MMIW) at The Victory Theatre Center in Burbank, where performances continue through March 23.
An additional talkback is scheduled for Sunday, March 9 with DeLanna Studi (Cherokee Nation), Artistic Director of Native Voices at the Autry, moderated by Elisa Blandford, Managing Director at Native Voices
