The Hospice Promise Foundation assists Northern Arizona Hospice patients and families with essential care giving and related expenses they are unable to afford themselves and that are not already covered by hospice. These can include but are not limited to: rent, utilities, emergency repairs, personal care items and food assistance. The Foundation also provides funding for patients’ last wishes, burial assistance, community projects like bereavement camps for children, and educational programs for end-of-life care.
Where does your money go? It all stays local!
Promise of Hope Story:
With the generosity of the Sisterhood Connection Foundation and our community, we were able to help a family in need. We had a gentleman on Northern Arizona Hospice that, under normal circumstances prior to illness, could care for his mobile home. The patient had refused our home health aide for bathing for 2 weeks and our nurse noticed some strange behaviors. Upon a further look, the water pipe had broken under the house, and he had no running water for weeks. With no money to repair the pipe, he thought his final days would be without water. Plumbers were called. By way of the Sisterhood raising funds for Hospice Promise Foundation, the plumber was able to replace 20 feet of pipe to restore water safely to the home. This cost was nearly $3,000, something our patient would never been able to afford. He was brought to tears to think this money was raised by our community for a purpose just as this. To give this man the dignity of running water in a time of unimaginable hardship gives me hope. Thank you so much for all you do every day.
