Ed Kabotie & Tha ‘Yoties, (short for Coyotes) are a reggae/rock band based in Flagstaff, Arizona. The band is notable for their catchy melodies, lively performances, and conscious message. Combining influences of reggae, rock, metal and ska, Tha ‘Yoties refer to their style of music as “IrieZona Reggae Rock”. Lyrically, their message reflects the Tewa/Hopi heritage of singer/songwriter Ed Kabotie, whose words address historic and contemporary struggles of Native American tribes of the southwest. Through the universal language of music, Tha ‘Yoties are howling for the Indigenous people and lands of the Colorado Plateau.
