This Local Anaesthesia for Podiatrists update course provides an evidence-based, clinically focused refresher aligned with current UK professional standards.
Designed for HCPC-registered podiatrists, the programme consolidated core knowledge while integrating recent guidance, pharmacological updates, and risk management principles relevant to modern practice.
This course revisits foundational sciences, including peripheral nerve anatomy of the foot and Ankle, pharmadynamics and pharmacokinetics of commonly used local anaesthetic agents, safe maximum dosage calculations and the role of vasoconstrictors.
Emphasis is placed on patient assessment, consent, documentation, and working to the top of our professional license.
By the end of the course, participants will be updated on the safe, confident, and legally compliant administration of local anaesthetia within the podiatric scope of practice, supported by reflective discussion and competency-based assessment. This update ensures practitioners remain clinically current, professionally accountable and prepared to deliver high-quality patient-centred care in both NHS and independent settings.
This is an in person event only.
Price includes refreshments and lunch + course notes.
