***Moved from Feb 1st to Feb 15th due to weather***? We’re back in Philly for our fourth annual La Tamalada! ?
Join us Sunday, February 15th from 11am–4pm for a celebration of tamales featuring local street vendors, each bringing their unique and delicious creations ? Vendor announcements coming soon!
This year, we’re honored to be hosted by our community partners Lighthouse (? 101 E. Erie Ave). Their mission—to support families and strengthen quality of life through educational, cultural, and social programs—makes their beautiful space the perfect home for La Tamalada. ?
☕️ Drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) will be available for purchase, with Cantina la Martina serving atole, champurrado, tepache, and café de olla.
? Tamales are $6 each. Food and drinks are pay-as-you-go; some vendors are cash only, so please come prepared.
? At 2pm, vendors will face off in a friendly tamale competition, with awards for the top spots. Judges will be announced soon!
? Beats by DJ Cali Rumba
Why we celebrate:
La Tamalada honors La Candelaria, a Mexican tradition marking the close of the holiday season. It’s also tied to Rosca de Reyes—where finding the figurine means hosting tamales and atole for loved ones. What starts as a family gathering has grown into a community-wide celebration… and yes, there will be atoles!
With a larger space this year, we’re excited to make La Tamalada bigger than ever. We can’t wait to celebrate with you! ?✨
Please note this is an outdoor event. Dress accordingly.
? Lighthouse 1893 | 101 E. Erie Ave | Parking is available for $10. Note that due to the snow limited parking spots are available, so carpooling and ride sharing services are encouraged. There is also street parking available. ?
