You have some experience in Cuban salsa (or any other couple dance), and are interested in learning LA-style Salsa? Then this workshop is for you! It is also for you if you want to switch roles: you know how to lead, but have never followed -- or the other way around! It is also suitable if you haven't danced LA-style salsa for a long while and need a refresher!
In this two-hour workshop (with break), we take you through all of the main LA patterns, with a special focus on technique (and how it differs from Cuban Salsa).
We will cover how the emphasis, feeling, and leading differs in LA-style Salsa from Cuban salsa, and go through the main steps: the cross-body lead, left and right turn, and the titanic steps - and there will be some time in the end for practice!
This workshop also sets you up for the improver or intermediate-level classes starting March 1st: use the class to figure out whether you would prefer to do the basics with more detail, or whether it makes sense to skip to the higher level.
