The Mexican folk saint of death, Santa Muerte, has a rich and colorful history that blends indigenous practices and beliefs with Mexican folk Catholicism. In this Santa Muerte introductory course, Len will share a bit of historical information of La Santa Muerte, explaining how she's evolved from an indigenous Mexican goddess to a folk saint and how one can work with her today. Duration: 2 hours Cost: $25
From La Hechicera Len: "I am a Mexican-American folk witch, and to me, this means my practice is influenced and inspired by the folklore and traditions of my ancestors as well as my lived experience as a transwoman in the American South. Santa Muerte and my ancestors are at the heart of my practice, and because of my ancestors' influence, there are aspects of Mexican Folk Catholicism in my practice."
Seating is limited, and advance purchase is encouraged to secure your spot. Purchase in-store or online. This presentation takes place in our upstairs classroom- please check in at the register when you arrive. Sorry, no refunds on event sales.
