Pope Francis invites Catholics around the world to celebrate the Season of Creation with prayer and action. Indeed, with this year’s theme: “To Hope and Act with Creation,” Pope Francis reminds us that “Hoping and acting with creation means first of all joining forces and walking together with all men and women of good will.”It is in that spirit of fellowship that we invite parishioners to help out in the Parish Giving Gardens located on our parish grounds on Tuesday, October 1st from 5:00 p.m. until dusk. Head Gardener Josh Gordon from our community partners at Yad Ezra will be on hand to coordinate volunteers and assign tasks according to ability and skill set.
Come prepared by dressing appropriately for the weather and for working with the soil. (In case of inclement weather the event will be moved to Yad Ezra’s Food Bank located at the corner of Eleven Mile Road and Kipling.) Volunteers of all backgrounds, ages, and abilities are welcome. (Children under 16 should be accompanied by an adult.) Refreshments will be served.
