Live presentation followed by discussionGreg Mahr, a psychiatrist in the Sleep Research program at Henry Ford, will explore the creative and transformative potential of dreaming. He will describe current research on the physiology of the dream state as it relates to creativity and personal growth. Lucid dreaming and the relationship between dreams and psychedelic states will also be explored.
Greg Mahr MD is an academic psychiatrist and on the faculty of Michigan State University and Wayne State University. He is the director of Consultation Liaison Psychiatry at Henry Ford Hospital, as well as working in their sleep research program and running a nightmare clinic. Greg speaks regularly at professional psychology and mental health conferences and has done tv and radio interviews and podcasts. He delivered a TEDx talk at MSU to an audience of over 1500. He is the author of The Wisdom of Dreams: Science, Synchronicity and the Language of the Soul. His second book, The Dream Oracle, will be published in 2025 by Inner Traditions.
