Description: Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) is an internationally recognized program for registered nurses to gain the knowledge and skills to care for trauma patients. The course consists of online learning, classroom instruction, and hands-on skills practice teaching a systematic approach to trauma care, rapid identification of life-threatening injuries, and evidence-based interventions. Successful completion results in a four-year provider verification and the acquisition of crucial skills for improving patient outcomes.
Why L.A. General: As a Level-1 trauma center, L.A. General Medical Center provides the highest level of trauma care in an academic environment. L.A. General is the flagship hospital and the birthplace of the county trauma system since it was established in 1983.
The nurses and educators that teach TNCC have years of experience at the bedside in the Trauma Resuscitation area of the130 bed Department of Emergency Medicine which treats an average of 500 patients a day.
