La Esperanza \/ The Hopefulness The story of sister sex workers in the Dominican Republic, stowing away in the hold of a cargo ship.
About this Event

LA ESPERANZA tells the story of Anna and Jaqueline, sister sex workers in the Dominican Republic, stowing away in the hold of a cargo ship, headed for France. They pass the time by playing out scenes from their past, but when the role-playing takes a dark turn, the lines between the real and the imaginary blur, family secrets are revealed, and Anna and Jaqueline are hurtled toward a future that threatens to be as bleak as their past. DQT is proud to present a concert reading of this exciting new play by Raquel Almazan, directed by Gineiris Garcia, featuring Maria Isabella Rojas and Merlixse Ventura, and original music by Dilson Hernandez.
