LA Biotech Hikes: Sturtevant Falls Adventure at Chantry Flats!

Get ready to lace up your boots and hit the trail with fellow biotech & life sciences pros! This month, we're heading deep into the Angeles National Forest for a stunning hike to Sturtevant Falls & Campground — a beautiful escape that’s equal parts nature therapy and networking opportunity.

Whether you're in for a scenic stroll or ready to push your limits, we’ve got two trail options to choose from:

🥾 Option 1: Sturtevant Falls Trail
• Easy, 3 miles RT
• ~700 ft elevation gain
• Waterfall views = guaranteed good vibes

🏕️ Option 2: Trail to Sturtevant Camp
• Moderate, 11 miles RT
• ~2,800 ft elevation gain
• A true backcountry adventure

DETAILS YOU NEED TO KNOW:
📍 Meet at: Chantry Flats Monument, 1 Chantry Flats Rd, Arcadia, CA
🕕 Meet-up: 6:00 AM | Hike starts promptly at 6:15 AM
⏱️ Time: ~3.5–4 hrs depending on your route
🐶 Dog-Friendly: Yes – leashed pups welcome!

🚗 Caravan Meetup Option – 5:30 AM (email me to confirm)

For those who’d like to drive up together, meet at Starbucks in Upper Hasting Ranch:

We'll head to the trailhead from there at 5:40 AM sharp.

What to Bring:
1L+ of water
Snacks & sun protection
Sturdy hiking shoes
Hiking poles (optional, but helpful!)
Layers – mornings can be chilly, but it warms up fast
Headlamp for the early start
