About this Event

Kāinga Ora Ōrākei Community Evening

Come join us for an informative and engaging community evening hosted by Kāinga Ora for the neighbourhooods of Ellerslie, Glendowie and Meadowbank! This event is a wonderful opportunity to connect with your neighbours and learn how we are shaping our local communities.

We have postponed this due to another event. It will now happen on Thursday, May 30, 2024, starting at 6:00 PM, we will be gathering at a venue to be confirmed located in Ellerslie.

During the evening, we will have presenters who are experts in urban design and strategy and alternative transport modes. This is also your chance to have a chat with our Development Team about housing projects and initiatives in our neighbourhoods of Ellerslie, Glendowie and Meadowbank.

The presenters will be:

George Weeks - Principal Urban Designer at Kāinga Ora: George is strategic urban designer who co-leads the Sustainable Transport Outcomes. He is interested in the designs of our streets and spaces and how they can make people's lives better.

Joanna Smith - Principal Urban Designer at Kāinga Ora: Joanna brings extensive experience from roles in councils and private design practices in Tāmaki Mākaurau and London. Notably, she established the inaugural urban design team at the former Aucaklnd City Council, leading the pioneering design review panels. Joanna specialises intown centre revitalisation, master planning and housing regeneration projects. Currently, she focuses on state housing schemes and large-scale neighbourhood regeneration projects in Roskill, Māngere, Oranga and Northcote.

Mark your calendars and spread the word - we can't wait to see you there!
