Kyle Gregory Price [https://kylegregoryprice.com/], Chicago-based improviser and percussionist, hosts another event at Constellation with Paul Giallorenzo (piano), Fred Jackson Jr. (woodwinds), and Dave Rempis (saxophone) in a never heard before quintet that this time includes Meredith Nesbitt on cello. Kyle has performed across Chicagoland and beyond including NYC, Montréal, Tokyo, Rotterdam, Toronto and Buffalo for over two decades. He has worked with the Merce Cunningham Dance Troupe, Theater Y, NON:op, and Third Coast Percussion. As co-director of The Lucky Trikes, along with Deirdre Harrison, the free-jazz storytelling chamber band has worked with many of Chicago’s free-jazz and new music artists since 2014 in public spaces as diverse as the Art Institute of Chicago, Newberry Library, the citywide Chicago Park District and various festivals. Price composed original songs for the band’s albums, We Are the Lucky Trikes (2017) and Listen, Listen, Listen (2021). His playing style and approach are as dynamic and frenetic as his mind and personal story; high highs and low lows, with only the occasional in-between.
