Eastern Winds on Birka – Kyivan Rus Festival ⚔️A historical cultural festival at Birka!
We invite you on a journey back to the Viking Age, focusing on the historical relations between Scandinavia and Kyivan Rus.
During the festival you will experience:
• An authentic Viking camp
• Reconstructions of everyday life during the Viking Age and in Kyivan Rus
• Lectures and film screenings about the historical connections between Scandinavia and Kyivan Rus
• Crafts and workshops
• A historical market
• Music
• Interactive activities for both children and adults
• Traditional food and historically inspired dishes
Accommodation:
At the festival area there will be both a regular camping area and a historical camp. You can bring a regular tent and park in the camping area. There is also a separate building with sinks and toilets for extra comfort.
Food:
If you stay in the camping area you can bring your own food, but there will also be a restaurant and several food stalls on site.
💛💙 During the festival, a fundraiser will be organized to support Ukraine via the Repower organization.
