Kweekje, kon luku!: Jouw verhaal in een museum (voertaal: Nederlands)

Heb je thuis ook iets liggen, dat een verhaal vertelt dat misschien wel in een museum thuishoort? De geschiedenis van een stad is nooit af. Ze wordt voortdurend aangevuld en herschreven, zoveel verhalen zijn nog onbekend of onderbelicht. Maar hoe en door wie wordt bepaald wat in archieven en collecties belandt?

Daar gaat het om tijdens ‘Jouw verhaal in een museum’ op 29 januari in OSCAM.

Migiza Victoriashoop (hoofd collecties, Stadsarchief Amsterdam) en Nicole Terborg (journalist en initiator van Kweekje, kon luku!) gaan samen met het publiek in gesprek, onder leiding van Frederiek Biemans (curator Prospektor).

Met de in OSCAM als casus praten we over wat erfgoed is, wie de waarde bepaalt en hoe we persoonlijke en familieverhalen onderdeel kunnen maken van de stadsgeschiedenis. In de tentoonstelling zie je hoe foto’s, brieven, cassettebandjes en kunst laten zien hoe zorg, migratie en veerkracht families in Nederland hebben gevormd.

Meld je nu aan en neem je ook een foto, brief of voorwerp mee. Dan bekijken we samen de persoonlijke en historische context en hoe jouw (familie) verhaal de stadsgeschiedenis compleet maakt.

Kweekje, kon luku!: Your story in a museum (event in Dutch)

Do you have something at home that tells a story that might belong in a museum? The history of a city is never finished. It is constantly being expanded and rewritten, with many stories are still unknown or underrepresented. But how and by whom is it decided what ends up in archives and collections?

These questions are central to 'Your Story in a Museum' on 29 January at OSCAM.

Migiza Victoriashoop (Head of Collections, Amsterdam City Archives) and Nicole Terborg (journalist and initiator of Kweekje, kon luku!) will engage in conversation with the audience, led by Frederiek Biemans (curator Prospektor).

Using the exhibition Kweekje, kon luku! in OSCAM as a case study, we will discuss what heritage is, who determines its value and how personal and family stories can become part of the history of the city. The exhibition shows how photographs, letters, cassette tapes, and artworks reveal how care, migration, and resilience have shaped families in the Netherlands.
