Kumi Adachi / Guitarist ComposerKumi Adachi, born in Osaka, Japan. At age 11, she took up the guitar. Two years after, she started to perform at the stage. At age 19, studied in Los Angels. In 2002, moved to Kyoto, Japan, she has jammed with lots of well noted musicians with her powerful, bluesy and groovy playing style and her tunes. In 2005, she formed her own leader band, "Kumi Adachi club PANGAEA". In 2007, released their first album "Little Wing" which entered the Japanese jazz charts of the Tower Records. Not long after her debut, she took the music scene by storm and released 2nd album "WINNERS!" in 2008, 3rd album "LG.B."in 2009. In 2011, she performed with Orianthi, who played in Michael Jackson's "THIS IS IT", at the stage of "Montreux Jazz Festival Japan in Kawasaki". (It was the second time to perform with her.)In 2012, she was given an offer to perform at "Cairo Jazz Festival" in Egypt as the final performer of the festival. In the same year, she released live DVD "Live Lab."
as her unit "J&K". "J&K" is a guitar instrumental unit with Jun Kajiwara, who supports many well known musicians, such as the sax player Sadao Watanabe, a singer Ryoko Moriyama, Toshiki Kadomatsu. In 2013, she released J&K's first album "J&K", which entered the jazz sales charts of the Tower Records at No.2 and the jazz sales charts of HMV at No.4. In 2014, J&K performed at Japanese Culture Center in Paris and well known jazz club "New Morning" in Paris.
The sound that has been polished up for ten years is able to call "the second Pangaea sound",is appreciated in various areas.In December 2016, "Kumi Adachi with Shoka Okubo" that is the unit of Kumi and Syoka who shows talent as a young blues guitarist released "Luck of Blue" from KING RECORDS.
They carried out a new album release tour with 13 places of whole country for from February to March in 2017. Their live performances are overwhelming and well-received. In 2018, she started a new project with Takashima Sakurako
