we do specialist training for advanced routines, competition, aerial (flying) moves, musicality, etc. from time to time. enquire with the teachers about any interest you might have or when the next is planned.
these can be single day or series or days / weeks

Plus it allows ADVANCED dancers to do complicated and extraordinary moves like aerial performances (jumping and flying moves).

WHAT IS JIVE ? - JIVE (or Modern Jive) is a smooth and stylish blending of dance styles including Rock n Roll, Latin, Ballroom, Swing, Lindy Hop and more, with simple footwork and easy learning, it comes under many names MJ, Ceroc, Jazz Jive, etc.
A fun style and simple partner dance which gets you dancing quickly to your favorite chart hits and so much more!
Suitable for all ages. Danced to all kinds of music - an exciting and fun, freestyle dance.
🙂 It's the Latin version of Rock n Roll...... 🙂

ENGLISH - Speaking English makes it easy but remember this is dancing and it's all about practice = WATCH and DO.
OTHER LANGUAGES - Many of the students speak other languages and usually help explain. Some of the teachers are Vietnamese and often help

PARTNER - NO partner needed we change partners so everyone is included and meets new friends.

SKILL - You don't need any previous experience, just the patience and interest. Each class adapts for the students that come on the day, to develop your confidence and individual style.
Many people ask “Can I do it” and we answer, “ YES you can, we have taught the young, the old and the disabled, we are patient and it’s fun”

ENGLISH - If you don't speak English, it's still very easy to learn dance because you WATCH and DO. Also, with many Vietnamese in the group to talk with, there is always someone to help you.

CLOTHES - Dress is casual, comfortable, T-shirt and shorts are great, AVOID loose or baggy clothes, jumpers, etc. (it gets hard to reach around your partner's back and fingers get stuck).
In CLASS, if you are wearing long skirts it will be difficult for the teacher to see how you are move your legs and feet and properly instruct you on issues of styling and balance. Leotards, shorts are usually your best choice.
🏅ADVANCED ladies may do aerial moves and prefer not to wear short dresses while they are upside-down. A work around is to wear shorts under your dress

SHOES - Any shoes are fine as long as they are comfortable. Close fitting are best, sneakers are fine to get started with.
RECOMMENDED - dance shoes will allow you to practice at the highest level, these should fit the heal of your foot well and preferably have a leather sole.
Dance shoes do not need to be expensive.
Ask the teachers and other dancers about their preferences.
🏅BEGINNERS sneakers or similar, you don't need anything special to get started with.
🏅ADVANCED should consider sneakers as a good option while learning jumping and aerial moves, to cushion the landings.
But when it all comes down to looking the best on the dance floor, most dancers agree..... only true dance shoes will allow you to practice at the highest level and make you look your best. These should fit the heal of your foot well and preferably have a hard synthetic or leather sole.

HAIR - Some girls find it better to tie their hair back, if it is long. Pony tail or braided.

FEES - Full price at the door. Discounts are often available by prepayment, speak to Trang or Kene.

POLICY - payments, please pay on arrival or prepay before arriving. If you are unsure about wanting a whole month of teaching you may trial the first class and pay the remainder of the month at the end of the night (same night)

INCLUSION - love and joy is why we do all this so we want everyone to be happy and included. We create, as best we can, a warm friendly atmosphere for everyone. Typically men are leads and women are follows, teachers require that a student studies EITHER LEAD or FOLLOW and completes that before switching to the other.

PHOTOGRAPHY - People often take photos & video of us dancing or doing the public free classes, we can't control that.
Teachers do photography (and videography) in order to promote (market) the classes and to improve the training methods.
The club uses photography for marketing. IF you have concerns. ask the person doing the photography to respect your wishes.
