The exhibition „Being Sensitive“ brings together works created at different moments of life and in different emotional states. They form a space of quiet presence — a reminder of sensitivity as an essential part of the human experience and of the ability to remain sensitive even when it hurts. Part of the exhibited works were evacuated from Ukraine in spring 2022 under ongoing bombardment, amid complete uncertainty about whether they could be preserved and returned.
Kristina Mygul is a Ukrainian multidisciplinary artist who combines painting, installation, and performance. Beyond a Master’s Degree in design after graduating from Lviv National Academy of Arts, her education as a choreographer significantly influences her visual language, shaping a sense of movement, pause, and tension within static forms.
Kristina has lived and worked in Luxembourg since 2022, and in this short time, she has been proudly recognized as a featured artist on the local art scene. Among her recent achievements is being listed as a Member in theLëtzebuerger Konschtlexikon, MNAHA, Luxembourg. Before relocating, she participated in more than 20 collective and solo exhibitions in Ukraine, Poland, the United Kingdom, Bulgaria, and Spain.
Kristina often works directly with her hands, where the act of painting becomes a physical and intuitive interaction with material. Her works explore identity and memory through everyday artifacts and the impact of personal and historical events. Rather than illustrating reality, Mygul responds to it through inner states and emotional presence, working with oil, acrylic, and mixed media to create layered, tactile compositions.
The recurring figure in her work is the woman, both personal and collective, a witness and bearer of vulnerability, resilience, and inner strength.
