Kristen Bird is a novelist, teacher, and certified book coach. She has lived coast to coast, but with her extended family in north Alabama, her roots run southern deep. She teaches high school English and writes in local coffee shops near her home outside of Houston. In her free time, she likes to visit parks with her three children, watch quirky films with her husband, and attempt to keep pace with her rescue lab-mix.With a following of well over 250,000 people on her Instagram, @igfamousbydana, Dana Omari-Harrell only uses her degrees (BS in Nutrition, BA English Literature, MS in Biochem) in the broadest sense: to be a content creator who is also an avid reader (and no, her page has nothing to do with books, food, nutrition, or biochemistry. Make it make sense?)
Dana loves to read, to stream TV shows, to run, to practice yoga, to be a DINK (double income no kids), to simultaneously have a hydration, a libation and a caffeination set of beverages, and to host parties and events. Her childhood dream job was to be a librarian, but only back when you stamped the library cards, so she’s a bit fickle too.
As a reader, Dana enjoys historical fiction, fantasy, sci fi, mystery and thriller, and the occasional “chick lit” beach read – basically anything but romance or Colleen Hoover books.
While her page is about skincare, plastic surgery, and pop culture, Dana’s true passion lies in active discussions – that’s all that social media is, really – and is thrilled to discuss the newest novel by local author and friend, Kristen Bird.
