Sponsored by Ohio Arts Council - The story of Krishna, known as "Krishna Kadha" or "Krishna Leela," is a popular theme in both Kuchipudi and Bharatanatyam dance performances. Both dance forms have their unique styles and expressions, but they often share common themes and stories from the mythology.
Both Kuchipudi and Bharatanatyam performances use intricate hand gestures (mudras), facial expressions (abhinaya), and rhythmic footwork to convey the stories and emotions associated with Krishna. Music, costumes, choreography and the essence of these performance remains rooted in the rich mythology.
