1983. Directed by Godfrey Reggio. Runtime: 86 minutes.
Koyaanisqatsi takes us to locations around the US and shows us the heavy toll modern technology has on humans and the Earth. This visual tone poem contains neither dialogue nor a vocalized narration; its tone is set by the juxtaposition of images and exceptional music by Philip Glass.
ON STAGE: Chumki Chakraborty
Chumki Chakraborty is a Somatic coach, Sound Healing practitioner, Reiki practitioner, Forest Therapy Guide, and founder of Moss and Moksha. She seamlessly integrates the body’s wisdom with holistic modalities, drawing inspiration from Eastern spiritual principles to heal deep-seated inner child and familial wounds, and to overcome limiting beliefs.
With her Sound Bath facilitations, Chumki is dedicated to creating a safe and supportive space for unwinding, relaxation, and stress recovery, encouraging individuals to slow down and achieve a deeper state of rest. Born and raised in India, she has a background in Indian Classical music and a passion for playing various drums and sound healing instruments. Chumki enriches her sessions by incorporating traditional Sanskrit mantras, cultivating a high-vibrational atmosphere that enhances the healing experience.
