Witness a spectacular dramatic performance of three timeless stories by Munshi Premchand and Bhisham Sahni — where friendship, resilience, and class struggles come alive!
A collection of timeless stories unfolds on stage in this dramatic retelling of legendary Indian playwrights Munshi Premchand and Bhisham Sahni’s works. Directed by Seema Bhargava Pahwa, three poignant narratives by the literary giants come together to offer a deeply moving exploration of class, nostalgia, and human resilience.
Munshi Premchand’s ‘Gulli Danda’ revisits the innocence of childhood, only to reveal the stark realities of social inequality. A man returns to his village, eager to relive a beloved childhood game with his old friend, but time has deepened the class divide between them, turning a simple game into a lesson in dignity and disparity.
Bhisham Sahni’s ‘Gango Ka Jaya’ follows a family of labourers who migrate to Delhi in search of a better life, only to be met with hardship and uncertainty. Through their struggles, the story captures the unspoken sacrifices of those who build the city yet remain unseen within it.
‘Saag Meat’, also by Bhisham Sahni, offers a sharp and ironic take on loyalty and class dynamics through the story of Jagga, a devoted servant in a Punjabi household. When a tragic incident shakes his world, the veneer of servitude and power is laid bare, forcing the protagonist to question the cost of devotion.
With masterful performances by Sawan Tank, Mayank Pahwa and Seema herself, ‘Kuch Panne’ is a stirring tribute to the masters of Indian literature, brought to life through thoughtful storytelling.
