Surrounded by peaceful forests and scenic countryside, this elegant château is not only beautiful on the outside but also home to an impressive collection of art, historical artifacts, and decorative pieces spanning the Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, and modern periods—some of the finest of their kind in Europe. Don’t miss the castle’s charming rose garden, especially in bloom.
Konopiště is also famously known as the final residence of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, whose assassination in 1914 became the spark that ignited World War I. Inside the castle, you’ll even find the bullet that changed the course of history.
But the adventure doesn’t stop there. We’ll continue to the nearby JAWA Motorcycle Museum, showcasing unique and iconic Czech motorbikes, followed by the impressive Retro Auto Museum, one of the largest private car collections in the country, featuring nearly 100 vehicles from the communist era (1948–1989).
We’ll also explore the quirky and artistic Park Drama věků, an open-air sculpture park that blends history, mythology, and imagination. To finish the day, we’ll cool off with a refreshing swim in a nearby quarry turned natural swimming spot—the perfect way to end an unforgettable trip.
