Bet Orten: TVOJE KREV / MOJE RŮŽE, která se uskuteční ve středu 24. 6. 2026 od 18:00 v The Chemistry Gallery, Halae 40, Holešovické tržnici (Bubenské nábřeží 306, Praha 7).
Komentovaná prohlídka výstavy proběhne s autorkou, kurátorkou a uměleckým ředitelem galerie Petrem Hájkem.
Samostatná výstava svébytné fotografky Bet Orten v mnohavrstevnaté instalaci odhaluje témata fragmentů ženské zkušenosti, otisků traumatu v těle a vztahů tělesných struktur a krajiny. Vynáší na světlo to, co často zůstává skryté - strach, stud, vnitřní stíny, ale také sílu a schopnost vyrovnat se s životními událostmi tvůrčím a emancipačním způsobem. Motivem fotografií Bet je zpravidla inscenované ženské tělo či těla v přírodním prostředí, které zde nabízí určitou konfrontaci, ztížení podmínek, ale také otevřené pole možností. Jednotlivé postavy přitom nejsou ani tak konkrétními osobnostmi, jako spíše aspekty autorčiny duše, autobiografickými úlomky. Název výstavy odkazuje k silnému traumatickému zážitku z dětství, kdy se Bet bezprostředně setkala s obrazem sebepoškození a zranitelnosti nejbližší osoby. Tento zážitek se stal výchozím bodem pro dlouhodobé zkoumání toho, jak se trauma ukládá do těla a paměti a jak může být transformováno prostřednictvím obrazu. Zbytky krve na podlaze připomínající okvětní plátky růže do značné míry vystihují esenci tvorby Bet - krása nikdy není plytká, je výsledkem složitých vnitřních procesů, které se nebrání temnotě ani možnosti znovuposkládání toho, co bylo rozbité, do nového, autentického a mocného já. Východiskem výstavy není ani tak samotné trauma jako dlouhodobý proces dosažení vnitřní svobody, možnosti léčení a obnovy.
Dílo Bet Orten bude na výstavě představeno v atmosférické instalaci, testující možnosti a rozšiřující hranice fotografického média. Kromě monumentálních tisků na textil budou vystaveny také intimnější formáty nebo fotografické objekty. Diváctvo tak bude vtaženo do děje, s možností nejen rozkrývat obrazy autorčiny vnitřní mytologie, ale také nahlédnout do příběhů a fragmentů vlastní tělesné a duševní zkušenosti.

We would like to invite you to a guided tour of the exhibition
YOUR BLOOD / MY ROSES by Bet Orten, taking place on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at 6:00 PM at The Chemistry Gallery, Hala 40, Holešovice Market (Bubenské nábřeží 306, Prague 7).
The guided tour will be led by the artist, the curator, and the gallery’s artistic director Petr Hájek.
In a multilayered installation, the solo exhibition by distinctive photographer Bet Orten reveals fragments of female experience, traces of trauma embedded in the body, and the relationships between bodily structures and landscape. It brings to light what often remains hidden — fear, shame, inner shadows, but also strength and the ability to confront life’s experiences through creative and emancipatory means.
The central motif of Bet’s photography is usually the staged female body — or bodies — situated within natural environments that offer confrontation, heightened conditions, but also an open field of possibilities. The figures portrayed are not so much specific individuals as aspects of the artist’s inner self, autobiographical fragments of the soul.
The exhibition title refers to a powerful traumatic childhood memory, when Bet was directly confronted with an image of self-harm and the vulnerability of someone close to her. This experience became the starting point for her long-term exploration of how trauma is stored within the body and memory, and how it can be transformed through image-making. Traces of blood on the floor resembling rose petals capture the essence of Bet’s work — beauty is never superficial, but rather the result of complex inner processes that do not shy away from darkness or from the possibility of reconstructing what has been broken into a new, authentic, and powerful self.
The exhibition is therefore not solely about trauma itself, but about the long-term process of achieving inner freedom, healing, and renewal.
Bet Orten’s work will be presented within an atmospheric installation that tests possibilities and expands the boundaries of the photographic medium. Alongside monumental textile prints, visitors will encounter more intimate formats and photographic objects. The audience is invited to immerse themselves in the narrative — not only uncovering images from the artist’s inner mythology, but also reflecting on fragments of their own bodily and emotional experience.
