Koko + Kreate | Te Whare HihiriA 2-hour evening of ceremony, creativity, and collective courage
Some things just need to be felt, not explained. This is one of them.
Koko + Kreate is an intimate evening held at Te Whare Hihiri — House of Energy, Frequency + Flow — on Oriental Parade, Wellington. We bring together the warmth of a koko (cacao) ceremony and the power of creative expression in a space that is safe, grounded, and completely judgment-free.
What to expect:
The evening opens with a mihi whakatau and a shared koko ceremony — warm cups, whakapapa, and a karakia to leave the outside world at the door. Our facilitator Kenape shares a spoken word piece of his own, giving the room permission to be vulnerable. You'll write from a guided prompt — whatever needs to come out, comes out. Then, in the most powerful part of the evening, everyone stands up right where they are and shares what they wrote in an open mic circle. No stage. No judgment. Just people saying yes to each other.
We close with light refreshments and a grounding whakamutunga to send you home floating.
This evening is for you if:
You've been carrying something you haven't been able to say out loud. You're creatively blocked or digitally fatigued. You want real connection with real people. You're drawn to indigenous wisdom and a space that feels nothing like a corporate event.
What's included: Facilitated 2-hour session, koko ceremony, guided writing, open mic circle, light refreshments, closing karakia.
Date: Saturday 30 May 2026
Time: 3:30pm – 5:30pm
Location: Te Whare Hihiri, Oriental Parade, Wellington

Can you help us spread the word? 🌿
If this sounds like something your people need — share this event, tag a friend who's been carrying too much lately, or forward it to your group chat. This is our first Koko + Kreate and we want the room filled with the right wairua. Every share means the world to us.
