Get Ready for a night of learning, laughter, and great conversations at Knowledge on Tap GJ, where knowledge flows as freely as the drinks! Backyard Composting with Bryan Reed
Topic: Join Bryan Reed - Technical Professor of Agricultural Programs at CMU for an interactive evening of learning about the benefits of composting
Bryan will present the key points in making compost on a backyard scale. We'll talk about the main requirements for making quality compost, what can be and shouldn't be composted and investigate different composting methods and systems. There will be plenty of options for discussions so this event is open to all levels of composters; from just curious to seasoned veterans!
Bryan Reed teaches Sustainable Agriculture courses, Composting & Worm Composting and Soil Science at Colorado Mesa University on the CMU Tech campus. He is also the faculty advisor for the CMU Compost Facility where he guides and assists the student workers in both thermophilic (hot) composting and vermicompost (with worms). He has attended multiple conferences on vermicomposting and most recently completed the National Compost Operators Training last May.
