Join Feline Rescue and the Hamline Midway Coalition for a free legal training focused on encampment evictions and the rights of unhoused people — including what happens to personal property and pets.
This training will be led by an attorney and a community organizer and is designed for unhoused neighbors, advocates, service providers, and anyone who wants to better understand how encampment evictions work in practice in Minneapolis and Saint Paul.
What we’ll cover:
Eviction protocols in Minneapolis and Saint Paul
Know Your Rights / Legal Self-Defense 101
Constitutional and legal rights during evictions
What this looks like in real life:
- Challenges in staying connected to attorneys and service providers
- How to document evictions and rights violations
- What happens if your rights are violated
- What a civil lawsuit can look like
- There will be ample time for questions, and confidential questions are welcome.
