Did you know that the knee joint is the largest joint in the body? Understanding the biomechanics of the knee joint, strengthening appropriately, and modifying when needed are all essential to keep the knees happy and healthy for a lifelong yoga practice. Through lecture, demonstration, and practice, you will learn how to support optimal health and safety of your knees. In this two-hour workshop, we will go through an overview of lower extremity anatomy, discuss common knee injuries and postures where they most commonly occur, talk about strengthening for injury prevention, and determine when modifications are needed. This class is appropriate for all levels of students.
