Join us at the HK Brewing Collective Taproom & Bar for a free educational evening about avalanche safety. The event will be hosted by UAC, who will share their expertise and insights to help you navigate your next adventure smoothly, and by S.T.A.Y., who will facilitate a brief discussion on resources available for mental health and suicide prevention needs.
Our hosts, HK Brewing Collective, are a locally owned, women-run bar in SLC that is "all about bringing people together with incredible beverages, vibrant community experiences, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere."
The available free programming of Know Before You Go (KBYG) is provided by The Utah Avalanche Center (UAC). KBYG is a free avalanche awareness program. Not much science, no warnings to stay out of the mountains, and no formulas to memorize. In 1 hour, you will see the destructive power of avalanches, understand when and why they happen, and how you can have fun in the mountains and avoid avalanches.
We will have food available for purchase provided by Tacos Daddy, a Utah-based taco food truck offering tacos, burritos, quesadillas, tortas, gorditas, sopes, and combo plates!
