In partnership with The Heart of Kent Walking Festival.Join us for a 13km (8.5 mile) walk starting at Sevenoaks Train Station, just a 45-minute train ride from central London. This picturesque route takes us through the stunning Knole Park, home to herds of deer and the iconic Knole House, before heading onto the historic Greensand Way with its breathtaking views over the Weald.
Highlights of the Walk:
Knole Park: Covering over 1,000 acres, Knole Park is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and home to one of the last remaining medieval deer parks in England. Keep an eye out for its wild deer, descendants of herds that have roamed the park for over 500 years.
Knole House: Known as a “calendar house,” Knole House is steeped in history. Its unique architecture features 365 rooms, 52 staircases, 12 entrances, and 7 courtyards, symbolizing the days, weeks, and months of the year.
The Greensand Way: A long-distance path stretching 108 miles across Surrey and Kent, the Greensand Way provides spectacular views of the Kentish Weald and passes through charming woodlands and open fields.
Flora : Along the way, we may catch the first glimpses of early bluebells and fragrant wild garlic. If there is amble garlic we will teach you how to sustainable forage this too.
The walk loops back through serene woodlands, offering a variety of terrains to enjoy. This is a fantastic trail to connect with nature in one of Kent’s most beautiful landscapes.
