About this Event
Whether darned, reworked or visibly mended using techniques like woven darning, a garment that has been given a new life continues to tell a story of the wearer. Our workshops on the basics of knitwear darning introduce you to this traditional technique. Here, a TOAST Repair specialist will teach you how to do it yourself, should you have any knitted items in need of repair, from knitted socks and jumpers to blankets and homewares.
Bring any cherished garment along to one of our sessions, and discover a variety of creative mending options.
TOAST has partnered with , a UK charity working towards reducing the social and environmental impact of our clothes. Our repair workshops are free to attend. However, you also have the option to make a voluntary donation. All proceeds will be donated to Traid's long-term programme with educational foundation . With the help of Traid, the organisation provides educational scholarships to young women in vulnerable communities in Tamil Nadu, South India.
