Part of Spring Into Action (3-19 April 2026), two weeks of free, nature-themed events and opportunities to be active, creative and celebrate the return of Baltic's beloved wild residents and Spring in all its glory.

Discover interesting facts about these guests that have used the NewcastleGateshead Quayside as a breeding site since the 1960s and have truly become a well-established part of our local and natural heritage.

The tours are informal and Baltic Crew share great insight into our protected lodgers. Ask at the Hello Desk for further information on where to meet, or listen out for the announcements. Approximate tour duration: 20 minutes.
Keep track of our resident Kittiwake's with Durham Wildlife Trust's Live Kittiwake Cam on the side of our building or during your visit in Baltic’s Level 2 Learning Lounge.
Part of Birds, Bees, Bikes & Trees, a three-year partnership between Baltic, North East Young Dads & Lads (NEYDL) and Newcastle University , funded by The National Lottery Community Fund.
