Kayak Fishing Outing by HOW chapter Volunteers. Waivers mandatory. Volunteers to arrive at least (2) two-hours prior to event time to setup.
About this Event

A kayak, PFD, fishing gear, and fishing permit provided by Heroes on the Water Northwest Chapter. No experience necessary.

Volunteers must arrive at least 2-hours prior to event time for setup. Teardown takes approximately 2-3 hours after lunch. Lunch served between 12:30 PM - 13:30 PM.

Participants are asked to arrive 30 minutes prior to event time to secure kayak reservations and outing prep. Please arrive on-time or notify us in advance of any changes or concerns.

Wear Shoes & Clothes you do not mind getting wet and dirty. Bring a towel and change of clothes in case you'll need it. Bringing a cooler, sun protection, and portable chair or picnic blanket not required but recommended. We will provide the necessary gear for those with reserved kayaks. We do not have fishing gear for small children but we do have lifevest for them.

Lunch provided for registered attendees. Drinking water and snacks provided. If you have allergies or dietary restrictions we recommend bringing your own snacks and or lunch but if allowed sufficient notice we will do our best to accommodate. Breakfast & Coffee cannot be guaranteed but we will do our best to have items available.

IMPORTANT NOTE: To complete your reservations you must submit the required event waivers 1.) Release of Liability Waiver and 2.) Media Waiver (due once per year) for each person attending including minors and participants not fishing or going out on the water.

Safety is our #1 Priority. Please wear your lifevest properly while out on the water at all times. Events are rain or shine but we will do our best to notify attendees of any changes.


Heroes on the Water programs are proven to be effective in reducing symptoms of post-traumatic stress, increasing healing of traumatic brain injury, and improving overall well-being for participants. Our goal is to provide heroes with a way to positively improve their lives, enhance their family dynamic, and impact their community in a healthy and lasting way.
