About this Event

In light of the serious escalations and war on Lebanon, Daithi and Lea, who have led Kirtans together in Guatemala, are coming together to offer an evening of chanting mantras and heartsongs! Despite these dark times we're living, this Kirtan is a celebration of life, of community, and of love. It's our way to celebrate our humanness, our ability to hold the whole spectrum of joys and sorrows, to revive the vision of a more compassionate world that we want to build and not fall deeper into apathy and complacency.

About the cause:

This war is the most deadly one Lebanon has faced in years, yet donations are running very low. More than 1M people displaced, among them 300,000 children.

A portion of the proceeds will go to Beit el Baraka, an NGO operating on the ground supporting displaced people from the south and other areas of Lebanon.

The other portion of the proceeds will go to the Lebanese Red Cross (a collective of medics, humanitarian workers and volunteers) who are our first responders to any attacks on civilians as well as ensuring the health and safety of our displaced population. They are sadly being targeted too, which is a war crime.

About Kirtan:

As part of Bhakti yoga, chanting mantras is a self-less form of prayer that physiologically, emotionally and spiritually alters our vibrational state. Kirtan is a very simple and powerful way to meditate. The music does the work for you as you flow with the melody, rhythm, and vibrations. Through singing with intention, we bring our feelings out to the world and find new ways to express ourselves where others can feel them too. Together, we will be creating a space where we go towards a deeper sense of connection, belonging, and love.
